Founded in 1992 as the first brewpub in DC since Prohibition, Capitol City Brewing Company was also the first brewery in the District since the Christian Heurich Brewing Company closed in 1956. Our original location stands at the corner of 11th and H NW in the city, while all brewing operations are now focused in Arlington, Virginia, where our 15 bbl JVNW brewery turns out 2500 bbl/year.
We have four core beers, Capitol Kolsch, Pale Rider, Amber Waves, and Prohibition Porter. We always keep an IPA and a wheat beer on tap as well, though the beers rotate. You can always find at least eight draft offerings!
All our beers are made with malt, hops, yeast, and water, and served unpasteurized. No chemicals or funny things that are hard to pronounce! Fresh, simple, and locally made!
