Forge was started by Matt and Kerri Rose in October of 2013. Matt was an Aerospace Engineer in a previous life, who’s love of craft beer started when he was handed a glass of Wobbly Bob Dopplebock from Union Barrel Works in PA. His love of brewing started when a friend bought him a Mr. Beer kit, and he immediately decided he could do better. For the next 8 years Matt homebrewed at every chance, learning the ins and outs of classic and modern styles of beer.
At Forge, we brew a lot of classic Belgian and German styles, with an eye towards malt. That doesn’t mean we don’t enjoy a good Double IPA though, such as our Seaward, containing Chinook, Cascade, Columbus and Centennial. We have 8 beers always on tap, with a rotating 4 “white labels” (meaning Matt was too lazy to actually get a label made, so he just put a white one on there and scribbled something unintelligible.) We occasionally feature some barrel-aged brews as well as cask ales, and we have live music and trivia on a regular basis. We sell tasters, pints and growler fills.
