Wolf Hills Brewing Company

Wolf Hills began in 1999 as a 1 bbl nanobrewery by a homebrewer and 3 great friends, built good will and our brand, and expanded to a 7 bbl brewery. We are located in an old Ice House built before the civil war. Our name comes from the original reference by Daniel Boone to what is now Abingdon. We specialize in having a variety of brews and distribute 4 from Knoxville to Richmond. We just recently started canning our Troopers Alley IPA and White Blaze Honey Cream Ale, both named for a local part of Abingdon where the saloon used to be and the Appalachian Trail, respectively.

We believe craft beer should be fresh and local. We also believe marketing should be minimized – especially the budget spent on marketing. We rely heavily on social media and word-of-mouth. As such, our community has developed our tasting room, the Wolf’s Den, into a true public house similar to pre-prohibition town meeting areas for socialization, networking, and fellowship.

We offer fresh beer in many varieties to appease multiple palates set in a home-like, community-ownership atmosphere featuring local music 3-4 times a week.  We close at 8 or 9 to minimize the impact to our community and because ‘nothing good happens after 10 o’clock’. 😉
